    Abstract

The primary purpose of the investigation leading to the report of which this is the basic data section was to determine the extent to which salt water had encroached into the water-bearing formations of Seminole County and to evaluate the factors governing encroachment. Field work for this study, begun in 1951 by the U. S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Florida Geological Survey, the Board of County Commissioners of Seminole County, and the city of Sanford, was completed in 1956. The interpretive results of the study are given in a report entitled "Ground-Water Resources of Seminole County, Florida, " by Jack T. Barraclough, published by the Florida Geological Survey as Report of Investigations No. 27. (Document has 156 pages.)
