    Abstract

    The southern California commercial catch of jack mackerel experienced a tremendous expansion during the 1947-48 season. Landings ranged from a high of 158.7 million pounds landed during 1952-53 t o a low of 14.0 million pounds landed during 1954-55. The 1947 year class contributed 296,718 thousand fish and 167,997 thousand pounds. (49pp.)
