    Abstract

Okavango Delta is fed by water from the Okavango River and by local rainfall. Okavango River delivers on average 8780 Mm 3 (million cubic meters) of water per year. Local rainfall is on average 490 mm per year. Considering that the Okavango Delta covers 12000 km2, approximately 5900 Mm3 of water is delivered by rainfall. Together, these two sources provide 14700 Mm 3 per year. This is approximately a volume of a cube 2.5 km a side. (2 page document)
