    Abstract

The study had the following objectives: 1. To observe the manatees that use Kings Bay, Crystal River, Florida throughout the winter and to plot their relative use of southern end of Kings Bay (South Bay) and its sanctuaries on days with differing levels of human activity. 2. To determine the relationship among human waterborne activities, temperature, and manatee use of Kings Bay. 3. To make management recommendations, if necessary, to minimize any negative impacts of human water-borne activities on the Crystal River manatees while they are using this critical winter habitat.
